Arabic way of writing "Allah" looks like the ancient Sanskrit "Omk芒r", the genuine name of Bhagavan. Why?

I dont like this!

Why these people take symbols from my Dharm and pervert it?

Shivji half-moon crescent they put on top of their mosques.

And then they come and break Shivji's temples.

I dont like this one bit.

Hitler took the sacred Swastik and perverted it.

May these guys have an end similar to Hitler.

Arabic way of writing "Allah" looks like the ancient Sanskrit "Omk芒r", the genuine name of Bhagavan. Why?
this world is full of copy cats.......hehehehe..arrey think the other way-your dharm is so great that people wanna follow it........be proud of your religion....let people do whatever they want to....hope you got you answer.....cheers!!!!!!!!
Reply:Excuse me but i think u're looking for excuses to say rubbish.

Allah in arabic does not look like omkar. i ask u look properly. n the moon is not anyone's property. anyone can use it as a symbol. u shud think before u put ur queries to the public.
Reply:Big deal, who cares.
Reply:Wrong in every sense, get a book about symbols and read it.

Peace.
Reply:They took hindu numerals and called the "arabic numerals". They murdered upwards to one billion hindus in the Arab Muslim Invasions of India. They murdered upwards to 15 million Hindus in the infamous "Partition".

The greatest genocides in human history, by a long shot, were done by Muslims, and Hindus were their biggest vicitims.
Reply:The word "Allah" is the perfect description of the "One God" of monotheism for Jews, Christians and Muslims!

Is "Allah" only for Islam and Muslims?

[No! It is for All Three Abrahamic Faiths.]

"Allah" is the same word used by Christian Arabs and Jewish Arabs in their Bible, centuries before Islam came.

On page one [1] of Genesis in the Old Testament, we find the word "Allah" seventeen [17] times.

Every hotel and motel has a Bible. Next time you see one look in the introduction, you will find samples of the different languages they have translated. For Arabic they have translated the verse in the New Testament in Arabic from the famous verse in the Gospel John 3:16 -

"For God so loved the world . . . "

- and the word the translators used in Arabic for "God" is the very same word used by Muslims around the planet, "Allah."

Where Does the word "Allah" Come From?

"Allah" comes from the Arabic word "elah"a god' or something worshiped. - (Arabic) means '

This word (elah) can be made plural (gods), as in "aleha" and it can be male or female just as the word in English can be "goddess."

"Allah" comes from "elaha" but it brings more clarification and understanding.

Allah= Has no gender (not male and not female)

"He" is used only out of respect and dignity - not for gender

Allah = Always singular - Never plural

"We" is used only as the "Royal WE" just as in English for royalty

Allah =Means "The Only One to be Worshipped"
Reply:I think it's a bit extreme to compare this to Hitler.
Reply:The question seems to be very interested.Regardind " Allah" and "Om" or Aum" are having concerned with your heart feelings and these words and Also " Amin" are coming from internal heart feelings. You can not take or superior man of your religion who can put the word"Why these.............." and it shows that you have very little knowledge about your religion. In my opinion you should express your forgiveness for such sentence. Regarding moon and other symbols similarlities with Lord Shiv Moon nobody can prevent for taking any thing from Almighty God. If you ask such question then you are going against the wishes of Lord Shiv wishes . That is To think about welfare of others and excuse to those who are against your wishes. You do not know that Swastik sign taken by Hitlar was just oppisite to Swastik used in India. Thereby, your question asked is lack of knowledge. Prior to ask your question you should have a knowledge about " What you are asking"
Reply:The Word "Allah" is patented in Malaysia. Non muslims should not speak, write or print in any form, unless you find the salavation in that religion. Some one could issue a Fatwa. Please be careful

Please can somebody translate the name William into Sanskrit, as i would like this as a tattoo on my arm?

the above translation says "wiliyama" in Sanskrit.

If you want it to say "wiliyam" in Sanskrit you need to put a thin stroke under the last letter to produce:

विलियम्

However if you simply want the Devanagari script the above post does say "wiliyam" in Hindi.

I would take the second one because Sanskrit is much cooler than Hindi :)

BASIC PRINCIPLES,AND IDEOLOGY OF LIFE STYLES,LIFE SKILLS AND STANDARDS OD VALUED LIFE WAYS.

Name great book of 700 sanskrit shloka,18 chapters retold 18 disciplines in Yoga?
The Bhagavad Gita (Sanskrit भगवद्गीता, Bhagavad Gītā, "Song of God") is a Sanskrit text from the chapter Bhishma Parva of the Mahabharata epic, comprising 700 verses.

Krishna, as the speaker of the Bhagavad Gita, is referred to within as Bhagavan (the divine one). The verses themselves, using the range and style of Sanskrit meter (chhandas) with similes and metaphors, are written in a poetic form that is traditionally chanted; hence the title, which translates to "the Song of the Divine One". The Bhagavad Gita is revered as sacred by Hindu traditions, and especially so by Vaishnavas (followers of Vishnu-Krishna). It is commonly referred to as The Gita.

The content of the Gita is the conversation between Krishna and Arjuna taking place on the battlefield before the start of the Kurukshetra war. Responding to Arjuna's confusion and moral dilemma, Krishna explains to Arjuna his duties as a warrior and prince and elaborates on different Yogic and Vedantic philosophies, with examples and analogies. This has led to the Gita often being described as a concise guide to Hindu philosophy and also as a practical, self-contained guide to life. Other noted experts have described it as a lighthouse of eternal wisdom that has the ability to inspire any man or woman to supreme accomplishment and enlightenment. During the discourse, Krishna reveals his identity as the Supreme Being Himself (Svayam bhagavan), blessing Arjuna with an awe-inspiring glimpse of His divine universal form.

The Bhagavad Gita is also called Gitopanishad as well as Yogopanishad, implying its status as an Upanishad, or a Vedantic scripture. Since the Gita is drawn from the Mahabharata, it is included in Smriti texts. However, being one of Upanishads, it has a status of śruti, or revealed knowledge.

Reply:Of course it is Gita. It has 700 shlokas and 18 chapters but all are not devoted to yoga. Moreover, it does not elaborate on youga postures (aasana) which are popular these days. Aasans are only a part of wider scope of youga,

Gita elaborates on Gyanyoga ( pursuance of knowledge), Karmyoga ( attainment through righteous action) and Bhaktiyoga ( path of devotion). It is a wonderful book on life management.

Are you sure it is 'MIKHIL' ? Sorry, in my stock of Sanskrit or hindi word it is not available. One correction pl. the word 'Nikhil' doesn't mean complete, but as you said it means 'whole' or 'entire' (usage : 'Nikhil Bhuvan' = Entire world , but we can't use 'comlete work' as 'Nikhil karya'

What is the Sanskrit or Marathi name for star Sirius? and for big dipper?
Sanskrit for Sirius is Mrgavyadha ("deer hunter") or Lubdhaka ("hunter").

For the Big Dipper (which is only part of the constellation Ursa Major), the origin of the name is a mistake founded on approximate sounds. "Rakh" is Sanskrit for "to be bright" the Greeks corrupted this to the word "arktos" which means bear.

I would like to name my house, please suggest a beautiful/meaningful hindu / sanskrit name for my home?

Hi there, i am also looking for the same.. but not exactly a hindu/sanskrit kind of name. I want a name which is more generic, like.. "the castle", "Paradise" etc. As for you, I would suggest "Kailas" (Abode of Lord Shiva), Ayodhya, Krishnakripa, Advaita, Raga, Vaikundh, Vibhuti, Vrindavan, Gokulam, Shreyas, Sangeeth, Pranav, etc. If you are in south India, you can go for the name of your star, which would suit well as the name of the house..most of them does. If you have any suggestions for me, please respond..i am also looking for a name for my new house.. :)

Sarsoosh - This is a Sanskrit name taken from an earlier telling of Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves. Sarsoosh plays the princess's handmaiden who through great risk to her own life help's send messages to Orute that the princess will be arriving. She is also described as possessing great courage and large almond eyes. She appears later in the series where she is mayor/admiral of a town. I have never met anyone with that name before but it is AWESOME.

Why do we use the Sanskrit name for Boddhisattva Tara when they call her Dolma in Tibet? Who calls her Tara?

Which tradition still calls her Tara? The information about Tara says that Tibetans call her Dolma, Chinese call her Tuoluo, and Japanese call her Tarani. Tibet is supposedly the tradition that she is most popular in. But in English we talk about her as Tara, and we use the Sanskrit name Tara, and many English speakers use the Sanskrit chant that ends in Svaha, instead of the Tibetan chant that ends in Soha. If the Tibetans call her Dolma, and Tibet is the only tradition she is really popular in, then how did she still come into English with the original Sanskrit name Tara? Which tradition still calls her Tara and uses the original Sanskrit chant rather than the modified Tibetan chant?

Why do we use the Sanskrit name for Boddhisattva Tara when they call her Dolma in Tibet? Who calls her Tara?
The Sanskrit root t芒r-means "to traverse" or "cross over" as in using a bridge to ford a stream. In the orthodox Indian sacred tradition, T芒r芒 refers to the second of Ten Means to Realization. And as Shri Tara Devi she is the deification of that Mahavidya, according to Hindu tantra. As a T芒r卯ni, she carries you across; she serves as a bridge for you to get to immortality. But the root tar- can mean "tree," and "particularly," and it is also related to "star" and to "pupil of the eye."

In Tibetan, she is called Dolma or Do'ma, though often we see Drolma because it follows the Tibetan spelling (a little more; if we transliterate, it is actually sgrolma.)

How do you pronounce the name "tej" and "tejas"?its an indian name in sanskrit?

iv tried looking it up everywhere..and i cannot find one that i actually understand!!its got all those weird symbols etc..is it pronounced "te-shj"? the "j" being the sound you make when you say the "J" in "jean claud van dame"? and the same going for tejas?thanks!

How do you pronounce the name "tej" and "tejas"?its an indian name in sanskrit?
Its pretty simple really.

(1) Tej - rhymes perfectly with "Page". Make sure you pronounce the T sound softly, as when saying "tres" or three in Spanish.

(2) Tejas - two syllables here, "te" and "jas".

Te rhymes with "pay" and Jas is the same as the "jus" portion in the English word "Just".

Pronounce T softly again.

By the way, Tej means luminance and Tejas means someone who's "luminant" or who has a glow about them.

I want a sanskrit name for a new baby?
The vibrations produced by a name have an impact on both the individual concerned and on others in touch with that person. Psychological researches have revealed that persons respond unconsciously to the message conveyed by the meaning and vibration of a name. It has been found that persons with inappropriate names tend to suffer from low self-esteem.

Please find your answer in link given below.I hope this helps.

How would the name 'Peter', pronouced, 'pee-ter', or 'Pee-ta', be written in Sanskrit?

पीत - Peeta

पीतेर् - Peeter

frederick, nice try but what you have there is:

पईतआ ("Pee-tah") - paeetaa

पईतऋ ("Peet'r") - paeetR

here R is a vowel 'r', a retroflex sound. You can use it to represent english 'r' but i would use 'र्'.

ps. if you wanna see them in large font size ive put up a pic at this link:

Suggest an apt English/Hindi/Sanskrit name for A CiviL Engineering Magazine/ journal...?
Why get elaborate or esoteric? You could just use something as simple and "The Journal of Civil Engineering" or "Civil Engineering Magazine". Of course if you have a narrower focus you could use that, e.g. "Infrastructure Engineering" or "Roadways Engineering". Hope this helps:)
Reply:Sands of Time
Reply:Turban Times.
Reply:look at other journals to get ideas. i work for land surveyors and they have a whole bunch of different ones, but i cant at the moment remember any of their surveying/engineering journals. look it up online. make a play on words. a one or two word title is best
