पीत - Peeta
पीतेर् - Peeter
frederick, nice try but what you have there is:
पईतआ ("Pee-tah") - paeetaa
पईतऋ ("Peet'r") - paeetR
here R is a vowel 'r', a retroflex sound. You can use it to represent english 'r' but i would use 'र्'.
ps. if you wanna see them in large font size ive put up a pic at this link:

How would the name 'Peter', pronouced, 'pee-ter', or 'Pee-ta', be written in Sanskrit?
"Peter" in Sanskrit:
पईतआ ("Pee-tah")
पईतऋ ("Peet'r")
